Yoni Steaming

Welcome to the Sacred Art of Yoni Steaming

Yoni steaming is an ancient, gentle practice that invites you to come home to your body, to soften, awaken, and release.

I offer both online and in-person yoni steam ceremonies, each held in sacred space and guided with deep care.

As a folk women’s herbalist with years of experience, I lovingly hand-pick and blend each herbal formula to support your unique womb journey; whether you’re seeking ease, balance, reconnection, or deep release.

These ceremonies are more than a treatment, they are a ritual of remembrance, a moment to pause and tend to the wild wisdom within.

Come as you are. Leave feeling soothed, liberated, and more deeply attuned to your womb.

Is Yoni Steaming Safe?

Rather than “pushing” to transform, this is a space of receptivity and allowing. It is a return to your innate state of knowing, magnetism, and inner rhythm.

I often get asked if yoni steaming is safe.  I totally understand it, for many of it the idea of steaming herbs over our vagina can feel daunting, even alien!

Yoni Steaming is a practice that dates back centuries and is deeply rooted in the traditions of ancient cultures from around the world.

We may have actually been vaginal steaming longer than we haven’t been!

Over the decades I have been on my own womb healing journey, and learning from experts all around the world, Yoni Steaming has had the biggest impact.

There are a few situations I recommend you don’t steam – pregnancy, recent infection, or if you have a copper coil. We always conduct a consultation first to see if it’s right for you.

But I assure you it’s not only safe but life-changing!

How to Set up For a Yoni Steam

Creating a nurturing space for Yoni Steaming is just as important as the practice itself.

You may wish to incorporate candles, essential oils, or soothing music to promote relaxation. Ensure that you are comfortable and have everything you need at hand before you begin.

Remember, this is your time to connect with yourself; make the environment as peaceful and nurturing as possible.

Consider creating a ‘Womb Altar’. This can be a tangible manifestation of your intentions and is an integral part of the Yoni Steaming ritual.

You might include items that hold personal significance, such as crystals, sacred texts, images, or flowers.

Three Tips When Yoni Steaming:

You don’t need a fancy stool. In fact you could just place a large bowl in the toilet!

Hotter is NOT better. Give your herbs time to cool or have a cold water jug to hand.

Have some music or one of my recorded meditations ready to really amplify your womb connection.

FAQs

What is yoni steaming and how does it work?

Yoni steaming (also known as vaginal steaming or womb steaming) is a gentle, ancient practice where a woman sits over a pot of warm herbal steam, allowing the vapour to rise into the pelvic area. The warmth and healing properties of the herbs help to soften the tissues, increase circulation, and support energetic and physical clearing of the womb space.

Yoni steaming can support menstrual health, reduce cramping, help regulate cycles, and promote fertility and postpartum healing. On an energetic level, it’s deeply cleansing, helping to release old emotions, energetic residue from past partners, and reconnect you with your womb wisdom. It’s also a beautiful ritual for intention setting, self-love, and spiritual purification.

Steaming is generally safe when practiced with care, but it’s not suitable during pregnancy, menstruation, after recent surgery, or if you have an active infection. A consultation or guidance from a trained practitioner is recommended to choose the right herbs and timing for your unique cycle and constitution.

This depends on your intentions and cycle. Some women steam monthly before or after their bleed, others use it as part of deeper healing journeys. For general womb care, 1–2 times per month is often ideal. If you’re working on specific imbalances (like fibroids, irregular cycles, or trauma release), a more regular protocol may be advised under guidance.

Herbs are selected based on your needs, common allies include mugwort, calendula, lavender, rose, chamomile, and motherwort. They are chosen to soothe, cleanse, tonify, or open the womb energetically and physically. A trained practitioner will help you select herbs best suited to your body, emotional state, and spiritual intention.

Steaming is deeply relaxing and meditative, many women report feeling grounded, emotional release, vivid dreams, or heightened intuition afterward. It’s a time to tune into your body and listen. After steaming, you might feel lighter, clearer, or notice subtle shifts in your cycle or emotions. Integration is key, so rest, hydrate, and allow the process to unfold gently.
